Obituary of Mary Agnes Jacob
With sadness and heavy hearts, the loving family of Mary Agnes Jacob announce her peaceful passing on, Thursday, July 13th 2023, comfortably at home surrounded by all that loved her. Mary was a devoted and cherished wife for more than 54 years to the late Kenneth Jacob. She was a beloved mother of Cindy (John) D’Ambrosio, Kathy (Tom) Iftody; and Carolyn (Dan) Jankiv; firecracker of a grandmother to Lisa (Gary) De Meo, Johnny (Alexis) D’Ambrosio, Bobby (Rachel) D’Ambrosio, Jenny (Tom) MacBean, Jacob, Joey, Lindsay, Tommy and great-grandmother of: Veda, Remy, Valentina, and Lino; Born of 11, Mary was the dear sister of Darlene, Jackie, Ed, Pat, Josie, Danny, Doug, Tommy, Betty and Jeanette. Mary, always a warrior, fought several difficult and challenging battles in the recent 5 years of her life, however was not able to finish this time as the strong warrior she once was. Mary will always be remembered as a fun-loving friend and vivacious fashionista. Mary’s love of family over the years guided her toward a fulfilling life and a contented heart and soul. Her love of travel and golf kept her youthful and active until recent years. Mary was a volunteer for Kiwanis and in her earlier years a member the sorority Beta Sigma Phi. Her generosity and kindness will live on with all whom she loved, trusted, respected and was close to. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to: Mary’s dear friend Sandie Greenhalgh and Andrea, Angella and Keva of Sandra’s Home Health Care, who gave more than exceptional love and support to Mary and her family; The Palliative EMS team, Juby, Mary's visiting nurse from ParaMed and their team, Doctor Elliot, her nurse Ruby and Doctor Scott. In keeping with Mary’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street. St. Catharines. Cremation has taken place and a private ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kiwanis Club of St. Catharines and the Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton.
