Mrs. Leonard was a big part of my childhood growing up. I, along with my childhood friends, Jill and Catherine, spent many hours with Mrs. Leonard at her home in Port Dalhousie. Captain Leonard would be away on the ships while Mrs. Leonard taught us how to play checkers, chess, and even how to crochet. She would serve us Dare cookies and play old music down in the basement. I married at 21 years of age and moved up north to Fenelon Falls. Mr. Leonard came to visit us once when he came to Fenelon Falls for a Steam Show. Mrs. Leonard never missed sending anniversary cards until the last few years when her health took a turn. She always remembered my birthday by mailing me a card. She wrote me lovely letters over the years, sharing good news and sad news about her many dogs that she loved and lost. I made her a Christmas decoration as a child and it warmed
my heart each year when I came home for Christmas to see it displayed on her front door. I am so sad to read the news that she has passed away but she gave me so many wonderful memories that I will cherish forever. My heartfelt sympathy to her family.

So sorry for the loss of your good friend John. .Both Captain John and Pauline were instrumental in getting my present home for special needs men started some 25 years ago. Enjoyed many trips to Latrobe and Florida with Pauline and Captain John. Keeping you and Pauline's family in our prayers.

Pauline was a wonderful and kind friend to my parents, Ben and Mary Doliszny. Pauline often helped my mom out at the Ukrainian Treasures Gift Shop. She never forgot their birthdays and always sent a card! I always admired how she embraced the Ukrainian culture and became so active and involved at Sts Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church. Her beautiful smile and generous heart will be missed! Vichnaya Pam'yat!
