Stasia Kurowski

Obituary of Stasia Kurowski

Mary, Irene and Christopher are heart broken to announce the passing of their beautiful mother, Stasia in her 82nd year on Wednesday, October 4that home. We wanted more time, but now she joins our father, Edmund waiting for her since 2018.

A loving and forever devoted wife to her late husband, Edmund and most amazing mother to Mary (Tony), Irene, Christopher (Tanya). Dearly loved Babci to Marc, Jesse, April, Kevin, Michelle, Anthony, Kristen. Loving great-grandma to Kinsley, Elladie, Penelope, Isabella and Jackson. Loving sister to Mary (Joe) Berges. Predeceased by her parents, Rozalie and Leon Gnot, sister Anna Gawel, brother John (Judy) Gnot. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews and countless of friends she would meet for coffee at Tim’s.

Stasia came to Canada in 1961 and married Edmund in the same year. Together, they met the challenges of life in a new country with resilience and perseverance always demonstrating the value of hard work and devotion to family. Stasia will be remembered for keeping a meticulously clean home; always smelling like fresh linen upon entering. Her amazing cooking skills will be missed. She was a talented and gifted seamstress, designing and sewing curtains. Mom never forgot a birthday or anniversary; she had a passion for gardening and enjoyed cultivating her garden right until the end. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her whole family. A visit to her house would mean a delicious meal and always extra to take home and enjoy later. We will honour her memory and carry on the traditions she created with the best cabbage rolls and perogies recipes. Stasia was a dedicated and active parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and member/head waitress for many years at Polish Legion Branch 418. Thank you for all that you did and you will never be forgotten. Goodbye mom, I cried with you at your passing, I smile with you in my heart and I will always hold you in my soul.
