Obituary of Vera Frances Maroney
Peacefully in her 93rd year, on October 3, 2023 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Oakville. Beloved wife of the late Edward Maroney (2009), and cherished mother of Janice & John Goldspink, Edward & Joanne Maroney and Dean Maroney. Dear Nana to Elliot (Elizabeth), Graeme (Susie), Hilary (Chris), Thomas (Sophie), Sarah (Jay), Alison and Evan (Lorena). Great grandmother of thirteen grandchildren. Survived by her sister-in-law, Joyce Craig (Maroney). Predeceased by her younger sister Kessy Jaski (2021). Vera raised her family in St. Catharines, working part-time in the family business. She was an active member of the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Women’s League, and a long time volunteer in the St. Vincent de Paul store. Vera took great delight in watching her family grow and grow over the years and felt very blessed to have had so many years with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would also express a special thanks to the medical staff at OTMH. Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Covenant House or a charity of your choice.
