QUINLAN, Jane Elizabeth (nee Holland)
Surrounded by the love of her family, Jane passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines Hospital on October 6th, 2023 at the age of 90. Cherished mother of Kelley (Michael), Colleen (Jeff), and Paul (Julie). Grandmother of Carly (Tom) Machasic, Bobby and Katy Osadetz, Rebecca (Benson) and Tom Hindrichs, and Anna and John Quinlan. Great-grandmother of Olivia and Nora Machasic. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Lou and Marilyn Quinlan. Predeceased by her husband Tom and sister Patricia.
Jane was a proud Registered Nurse, a graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, class of ’53. After graduation she worked at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in St. Catharines. Through her friends Doris and Mac Chown, she was introduced to a young lawyer, Tom. They fell in love and were married June 6th, 1959. Together they raised their family and had many happy years in Burlington and St. Catharines. Jane was an avid bridge player, excelling in duplicate bridge and earning Masters bridge points. She displayed her creative side through her cross-stitch projects. Jane was especially proud of her grandchildren. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, arrangements were entrusted to the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. Her life was celebrated at a private family gathering. A memorial tree will be planted in her memory at Jaycee Gardens in the spring.
