Obituary of Catherine Evelyn McMulkin
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Catherine ‘Cathy’ McMulkin (nee King), on Sunday, October 8th, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Brian McMulkin. Cathy is survived by her (step) daughter, Angie (Chad) and (step) son, Tony (Lindsay) and her precious grandchildren Charlotte, Mason, Tyson-James and Quinn. Cathy will also be missed by her brother Thomas (Lori) and sister Joan (Robert) along with their children Tom, Steven, Paul and Ryan and grandchildren. She will be missed by her extended family and friends whom she loved deeply. Cherished daughter of the late Josephine (nee Pawlowski) and Henry William ‘Tom’ King.
Cathy and Brian shared a passion for travel making memories with the incredible places they would get to experience over their 32+ years together. Cathy spent many years serving the Church in Ontario, as well as Williamsburg, Virginia. She worked toward and received her Master of Divinity from Tyndale College and went on to pursue and obtain her Doctorate of Ministry at Northern Seminary. With her role as a Spiritual Director, Executive Director with the Canadian Fellowship of Christian Spiritual Directors and as a Certified Grief Educator, there was no question that Cathy had a deep desire to connect with people on various levels and help guide them with sincere compassion and entrusted care.
Since 2015, Cathy had called St. Catharines home, more specifically the community of Newport Quay where she had served as a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Lawn and Garden Committee, where she contributed to making the surrounding grounds and gardens even more beautiful, while forming wonderful friendships along the way.
In keeping with the family's wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Family welcomes guests for a time of a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, October 18th beginning at 11:00AM in the funeral home ceremony room with a private family burial to take place.
