Obituary of Alcide Edward Joseph Michaud
Alcide (Sid) Michaud passed peacefully away Tuesday October 17, 2023, in his 81st year with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Kate, whom he met in 1962 at a party and offered her a ride home and then never left her side. He is survived by his children Mark (Gerlinde) Michaud, Christine (Mark) Cudney. Proud Poppy to Jason (Adriana) Stefanie (Kristina), Lukas (Keristen) and Emma; as well as Great Poppy to Maverick. Sid (Butch) is survived by his sister Linda and many nieces and nephews. He is pre deceased by his sister Jackie and brother Andrew of Sault Ste Marie.
He worked as Foreman at Beaver Lumber prior to 25 years at Thompson Products before his retirement in 2003. Since retirement he has been an active member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church and Knights of Columbus 1394.
He was a great father, actively participating in his children’s upbringing. Taking on the role of Scout Leader (Boy Scouts of Canada) and Baseball Coach for many years.
Sid had a passion for woodworking and cheering on his favourite sports teams. He could always be counted on to lend a helping hand and will be remembered for his hard work and dedication to his family.
Visitation will take place Saturday October 21st at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 316 Queenston St. at 10:00 AM, Church service to follow at 11:00 AM.
