Dowd, Patricia “Pat” nee Walsh
Pat passed away peacefully at Upper Canada Lodge, on October 19th 2023, in her 95th year. Beloved wife to Jim for over 65 years. Loving mother to Robert (Holly) and Cathy (John). Caring grandmother of Heather (Brandon) Ducker, Kevan, Bryan (Claire), and cherished great-grandmother of Zoey.
Survived by brothers-in-law Ken (Della) Dowd and Jerry Dowd with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Lorna (Bill) Cosens and brother Ross (Deanna) Walsh, brother-in-law Bill (Geraldine), sisters-in-law Eleanor (Byron) Mills and Marilyn (Frank) Richardson.
Pat was a long-time employee in the Personnel Department at Sears Canada and a member of St. Alfred Church.
Pat enjoyed sewing and knitting and made many outfits and sweaters for her grandchildren. She was an excellent baker. Pat loved spending time with her grandchildren to whom she passed down her talents.
Thank you to all the staff at Upper Cananda Lodge for the wonderful care they provided to Pat over the years.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place and the family welcome guests for a time of visitation on Monday, October 23rd from 6:00-8:00PM and Tuesday, October 24th from 10:00-11:00AM with a funeral at 11:00AM in the funeral home ceremony room. A private interment will take place at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
