Obituary of Alan Dennis Tweedle

Alan Dennis Tweedle (1943 - 2023)

Alan Dennis Tweedle, a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle and a pillar of the community, passed away peacefully at Niagara Health in St. Catharines on October 23, 2023, at the age of 80. He was surrounded by the love of his family and the memories of a life well-lived. Alan was the cherished husband of Penny Eve Tweedle, his adoring wife and best friend.

Alan leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, forever etched in the hearts of those who knew him. He was the dearly loved step-father of Krista Campbell and Angela Campbell, and the proud father of Paul Turnbull. His love extended to his grandchildren: James and Isabella (Krista), Alana, Grant, and Li (Angela), and Robert, Carlos, and Gabi (Paul) as well as his niece and nephews: Karen, Ian, Andrew, David, Chris and Colin.

Born in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, England, to Eric Norman Tweedle and Dora Tweedle, Alan was a dear brother to Doreen, Lina, and Norm. His family and heritage held a special place in his heart.

Alan's life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to helping others. He was a hardworking, gentle, and caring man who dedicated his life to making a positive impact. His community of St. Catharines benefitted from his tireless volunteer work, raising funds for various charities, including the local community women's shelter and food bank.

In 1989, Alan made the move to St. Catharines, and in 1992, he joined the St. Catharines District Real Estate Board, now known as the Niagara Association of Realtors. His extensive background in marketing and sales, combined with his positive attitude and dedication to staying current in the real estate industry, made Alan a multiple MLS Achievement Award winner at the St. Catharines Real Estate Board.

Alan's warm smile, quick wit, and sense of humor endeared him to everyone he met. He had an innate gift for making fast friends, and his presence was a source of comfort to all. He had the unique ability to brighten any room with his radiant spirit.

In memory of Alan's remarkable life and in accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Instead, the family encourages those who wish to pay their respects to consider making a donation to Community Care, St. Catharines & Thorold (https://communitycarestca.ca/ways-to-give) in his honor. These contributions will continue the spirit of giving that was so dear to Alan's heart and will benefit those in need within the community.

Alan’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the communities he touched with his enduring kindness and boundless generosity. His legacy of love and service will continue to inspire us all.
