Obituary of Marilyn Prentice
The family of Marilyn Prentice (nee Mason) announce her passing on Wednesday, November 8th 2023 in her 90th year, comfortably in her home. Marilyn is survived by her children Linda Stephenson and Jamie Prentice; predeceased by her cherished husband, Jim Prentice (1998) and her beloved daughter, Sandy Prentice (2011). Marilyn was very proud of her grandchildren, Andrew, Aspen, Regina and Miguel. She is also survived by her son-in-law Carl Groom and sister-in-law Donna Mason and many nieces and nephews.
Following her long commitment with the St. Catharines’ Standard newspaper, Marilyn was involved with St. George’s Church and volunteered at Morning Star Mill. The family wish to express their gratitude to her amazing doctor, nurses, PSW’s and the therapists that allowed Marilyn to remain at home.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice in memory of Marilyn. We would like to invite family and friends to share in the Celebration of Marilyn's life on Thursday November 23, 1 p.m. at Rodman Hall, 109 St. Paul Crescent, St. Catharines.
