Obituary of Wendy Ann Potter
It is with sadness the family of Wendy Ann Potter (Ball) announce her peaceful passing on November 11th, 2023 at the age of 85. Wendy was known as a very kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by so many: Mum to Allison (Greg), Richard (Jan), Hilary (Glenn). Grandmother (Nan) to Paul, Mark (Janine), Rachel (Devin), Michael, Eden, Victoria and Jillian. Great grandmother (Nana Wendy) to Jacob, Lincoln, Isabel, Shaun, Ethan and Harrison.Survived in England by much loved sister Christine (Pete), brother Brian (Maureen) and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by husband Victor Potter, married 64 years, parents Lewis and Winifred Ball, grandmother Julia Coleman, grandson David Potter and many furry companions, especially Dachshund Daisy.
Born in London, England, January 4th, 1938 where she shared many happy family times, marriage to Victor and having 3 children before emigrating as a family to Canada where St. Catharines became home.
Graduated college with a Dental Assistant diploma and worked in that field several years followed by Medical Admin for a Respirologist until her retirement at age 63.
Talents and hobbies included: quilting (Busy Bees), various types of stitchery, knitting, sewing and more. Along with breeding cats (Marapa Cattery) she volunteered with the Rescue Greyhound program where she adopted 2 of the dogs Annie and Poppy. She and Victor shared many a CUPPA tea with animals on lap with a good TV program.
The family sends thanks to the special staff members at Linhaven Home that looked after Wendy with fun, kindness and compassion for the last couple of years. Also to all the supportive friends and family along her journey. We will all miss her dearly!
Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street on Sunday November 19th from 6-9 pm (memories shared at 7:15 pm). Private Family Service will be held at a later date. If desired donations may be made in Wendy's memory to the Humane Society of Greater Niagara or Alzheimers Society of Niagara Region.
