Obituary of Lillian Baraniuk
BARANIUK, Lillian- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lillian Baraniuk on Friday, November 24, 2023 at the St. Catharines Hospital at the age of 84. She is now happily reunited with her late daughter, Nicole. Cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews and their growing families. Loving sister of Nellie Avakian, Cernie (Joe) Meszeros, Danny (Cathy) Baraniuk and Isodore (Christine) Baraniuk. Predeceased by her parents Nick and Mary Baraniuk as well as her brother Elias, Matt (Olga), Victor (Barb) and Archie and her sisters Joanie, Millie Carbone (John) and Sonia Hales (Ted), Gibbo Avakian and Jessie Kozachenko (Russ). Lillian was an active member of St. Denis Church. She was born in St. Catharines and grew up with her large extended family on a farm on Geneva Street. In the 60's, Lillian moved to Chicago where she worked for the Chicago Stock Exchange. She was a big fan of PGA golf and will be forever remembered for making her delicious cabbage rolls and perogies. A special thank you to all of the staff at the St. Catharines Hospital. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St Catharines on Friday, December 1st from 10a.m.-12p.m. A Memorial Mass will follow at 12:30p.m. on Friday at St Denis Church, 230 Lake Street, St Catharines. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to Hospice Niagara or a Charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family.
