Obituary of Jose Ricardo Echeverria

Jose Ricardo Echeverria - The family announces with great sorrow and heavy hearts, the peaceful passing of Jose Ricardo on Sunday, October 14th, 2012, at the age of 67, at the Niagara Falls Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 40 years, Pabla Luisa Tabilo Echeverria of St. Catharines, Ontario; Treasured father of his daughter Marcela Alejandra Echeverria and partner Jay Stamp of Sudbury; his daughter Patricia Paulina Echeverria and partner Mike Jones of Toronto; his daughter Rosa Carol Echeverria of Toronto; his son Jose Mauricio Echeverria and partner Jennifer Pajunen of St Catharines, Ontario. Loving brother of Maximilliano Echeverria and wife Juana of Peterborough, Ontario. Will be greatly missed and loved by all his family and friends in Chile, brother Juaquin, sisters Maria Egunia and Georgette. Beloved uncle of Gabriela, Marcos and Patricio Echeverria and family. He will be missed dearly by all his grandchildren; Alexandra, Mariyah, Montanna, Kandra, Mercedes, Anthony, Maryssa, Mackenzie and Rebekah; our WELLO Jose was born and raised in Santiago, Chile, the son of Jose Echeverria Rubio and Mercedes Astorga, he immigrated to Canada where he became a lifelong resident of the Sudbury and St. Catharines regions. He greatly enjoyed the company of his dearest friends and he cherished his cats Charito and Pretty and loved all animals. Jose was a man of God and a great servant of the Catholic Church; a leader, teacher, and a friend to all. His selflessness knew no bounds and he touched many many lives. He was truly a miracle and a blessing to us all. A very special thank you to his dearest friends, Pastor Ron Pwiecek, Fabio and the entire Hispanic Church Community of St. Catharines, Dr. Malcolm and his medical team at Niagara Hospital for making his last days exceptional. Jose Ricardo's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St, St. Catharines, Ontario on Friday, October 19th from 6-9pm. Funeral Liturgy will follow the visitation on Saturday at the ST. ALFRED'S CHURCH, 272 Vine St, St. Catharines, Ontario at 11:00am.
