Obituary of Kaye Smith
Smith Catherine (Kaye) nee: Stewart.
Passed away peacefully at St Catharines General Hospital, with her daughters by her side on December 21, 2023. Pre-deceased by husband John Michael Smith, she leaves behind her daughters Kathy (Donald) Green and Mary Jo (David) Swindley, sister Alice Kent (Stewart), sister-in-law Doreen Southon (Smith) and many Nieces and Nephews. Nanny will be greatly missed by Christopher (Stephanie) Green, Michael (Nikki) Swindley and Matthew (Lauren) Swindley. She was much loved by her great-grandchildren Elizabeth Swindley, Mason Green, Hannah Swindley, Kira Green, Maxwell Swindley and Charlotte Swindley.
Kaye was a very active member of Canadian Calorie Counters branch 73, a past member of St Mary's Of The Assumption Church; she loved camping at Golden Lake and would love to fish with Poppy Mike any chance she got. An avid poker player (unless she lost) she taught the grandkids well. Kaye had a huge personality and loved a good joke and sharing fun times with her family.
At Kaye's request cremation has taken place. Her family will receive guests on Wednesday January 10th 2024 at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St Catharines, Ont, L2M 4Y1 (905) 937-4444 from 10am -12pm with a Celebration Of Life being held in the funeral home chapel at 12pm.
If so desired, donations to Niagara Health Foundation St Catharines Site would be appreciated by the family. Kaye's favourite colour was yellow, if you wish to send flowers please consider sending yellow flowers in her memory.
