Obituary of Domenico Mattucci

Died peacefully, at the age of 97, after a long life well-lived. Domenico was born in Silvi Marina, Abruzzo, Italy. He immigrated to Canada and was followed shortly by his wife and two children. Domenico spent his working life as a welder at Port Weller Dry Dock. He was a passionate gardener and continued the traditions he brought with him from Italy for as long as he was able. He was faithful to his roots in Italy while fully embracing his new life in Canada. Family was always the most important.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Maria. He is survived by his son Lorenzo (Jean Taylor) and his daughter Victoria (Gary) Augustynek. He will be missed by his grandchildren Kate, Hilary and Sophia (Hugh) and great grandchildren Rhea,Trey, James and Avery. Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 30th at George Darte Funeral Chapel Inc., 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, ON  from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. followed by a brief service at 10a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow.The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Harold and Grace Baker Centre for their caring and compassion.
