Obituary of Anastasia Tritchew
Tritchew, Anastasia
August 9, 1930 – December 29, 2023
It is with profound sadness and sorrow that the family of Anastasia Tritchew announce her passing at Pioneer Elder Care on December 29, 2023 where she was a resident for almost three years and passed away peacefully in her sleep.
We lost a much loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who lived a long, full and loving life. Anastasia is survived by her children Panteley (Carol), Ted (Sheryl), Stojan (Janet), Helen (Nick) and Steve (Josie); grandchildren Stephanie (Lucas), Stacey (Michael), Kaitlyn, Alex, Jennifer (Matthew), Jamie, Carl and Sara (Marcus); great grandchildren Harper and Noah. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Carl Tritchew in August 2015.
Anastasia was born in Agra, Greece in 1930 and moved to Canada where she met and married Carl Tritchew in 1956. Carl and Anastasia raised their 5 children on a family farm just outside St. Catharines, Ontario from 1962 until 1977, when they moved into the city.
Anastasia was a generous and devoted wife and mother. She loved gardening, flowers and cooking. Most of all she loved her family, showing her love with hugs, humour and delicious home cooked meals. After her husband’s stroke in 1996, she generously, compassionately and tirelessly cared for him for 19 years until he passed in 2015. Her steadfast devotion, love and generosity touched, strengthened and enriched the hearts and lives of her family and we will miss and remember her dearly.
A family service will be held in the future.
In lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
