Obituary of David Gordon Hastings

Hastings, David - Passed away surrounded by his family on January 16, 2024 at the age of 74. Beloved father to Rebecca (Ryan) Beresh. Devoted Popa to Tommy and Mikey. Pre deceased by his wife of 48 years, Suzy, his son Matthew and sister Sheila. Will be missed by his  brothers Dennis (Judy) and Donald (Sheila), as well as Brothers in law Hilliard (Dawn) Radford, and Brian (Danuta) Radford. Also greatly missed by his best friend Tim Hallett.

David was employed for 30 years at General Motors. David's loves were hockey, which he coached for many years, lacrosse and later, golf was his passion. He was involved with Meals on Wheels, and was always available to help his friends whenever they needed him. Above all things David loved his family especially his two grandsons.

Visitation will take place on January 21, 2024 at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street between 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Columba Anglican Church, 7 St. Columba Drive on January 22, 2024 at 11am. Cremation will follow the service. Donations to Hospice Niagara or the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated by the family.
