Obituary of Harvey Fehrman
It is with profound sadness that the family of Harvey Earl Fehrman announces his peaceful passing on Monday February 19, 2024 at the age of 80.
Harvey will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 (almost) years Marcia, his cherished children Geoffrey (Shelley) and Christine (Zoltan) and granddaughter Allison (Andrew). Predeceased by his parents William and Bertha, his siblings George, Mabel, Hubert, his sisters-in-law Nancy and Charmaine and brother-in-law Don, and so many friends who have gone before him. Survived by brothers Darryl (Darlene) and Marvin and sister-in-law Colleen, brother-in-law Gerald (Lyn) Hladun and several nieces and nephews who he treasured.
Harvey moved to St. Catharines from Walpole Township to start work at General Motors in 1963. He retired 1998 as a tool setter. He enjoyed golf in Myrtle Beach and was a long standing member of Rockway Golf Course, in St. Catharines. He was a long standing member of the Fairview men's bowling league. Harvey played baseball with the Gourmet Leftovers for years and spent 20 winters in Florida. Harvey was a devoted Buffalo Bills fan and a season ticket holder for 35 years and he loved the Boston Red Sox. Travelling tickled his fancy and he and Marcia visited Mexico, Cuba, Europe and Australia and New Zealand.
The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Friday, February 23rd from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A Final Tribute for Harvey will be held in the Ceremony Room of the funeral home Saturday, February 24th at 11am. Interment Maple Lawn Cemetery. If so desired donations made to St. Catharines Health Science Radiation Department, Attention: Dr. A. Hallock.
Special thanks to Dr. Hallock who was his rock and friend, who continued to give him much hope. Marcia will surely miss her meat on a stick fryer and her perogy dough roller.
