Obituary of Teresa Aguirre de Galeano
On Wednesday, February 21st Teresa Aguirre de Galeano was reunited with her cherished husband, César Galeano in her 87th year with family at her side. Loving mother to Carmenza (Alvaro), Marta, Carlos (Galy), Patricia (William), Clara (Luis), Juan (Sofia), Lina (Leo), Sandra (Benjamin) and Solangel; proud grandma to Diego, Diana, Juan Pablo, Sebastian, Juan David, Miguel Angel, Juan Camilo, Luis Felipe, Valeria, Andres and Kevin; great-grandma to Valentina, Andres Felipe, Milan Noe, Luciana, Mariana, Isabella, Thiago, Caio and Baby Franco;
Born in Balboa Colombia and immigrated to Canada in the Spring of 2003 where she expertly raised her large family in the Region of Niagara. Blessed with her strong faith and even stronger love for people, Teresa quickly became the matriarch and "grandmother" to many in her community. She had attempted her best at learning English in order to spread joy and happiness to others. She was a member of the St. Alfred Parish in St. Catharines and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading her Bible, praying the Rosary and spending time with her family.
Teresa's family wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to Teresa’s close friends that came and provided their support in her final days. Many thanks also to her spiritual leaders from her Catholic Church and the community for praying for her safe journey to our Almighty Father.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St, Catharines. The family welcomes family and friends for a time of gathering on the evening of Tuesday, February 27th 2024 from 7:00-9:00pm in the funeral home with prayers at 8:00pm. A Mass to be Celebrated in honour of Teresa will be held at St. Alfred Church Wednesday, February 28th at 10:30 a.m. followed by Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. You are welcomed to share with the family and friends after the funeral in St. Mark's room at St. Alfred Church. Mass donation cards in memory of Teresa will be appreciated by the family.

Madre amorosa de Carmenza (Álvaro), Marta, Carlos (Galy), Patricia (William), Clara (Luis), Juan (Sofía), Lina (Leo), Sandra (Benjamín) y Solangel; orgullosa abuela de Diego, Diana, Juan Pablo, Sebastián, Juan David, Miguel Ángel, Juan Camilo, Luis Felipe, Valeria, Andrés y Kevin; bisabuela de Valentina, Andrés Felipe, Milan Noe, Luciana, Mariana, Isabella, Thiago, Caio y bebe Franco;
Nació en Balboa Risaralda, Colombia y emigró a Canadá en la primavera del 2003, donde vivio y compartio su sabiduria, a su numerosa familia en la región de Niágara. Con su fe inquebrantable y su amor aún más fuerte por la gente, Teresita se convirtió en la matriarca y abuela de muchos. Hizo su mayor esfuerzo intentando aprender inglés para poder transmitir alegría y amor a los demás. Era miembro activo de la Parroquia de St. Alfred en St. Catharines y disfrutaba hacer crucigramas, leer su Biblia, Rezar el Rosario y Compartir el tiempo con su familia.
La familia desea expresar su más sincero agradecimiento a: Nuestros Sacerdotes, Diacono, Grupos de oración, Lideres espirituales de la Iglesia Católica y a los amigos cercanos de Teresita que vinieron y le brindaron su apoyo en sus últimos días. Gracias a las oraciones de toda la comunidad, que ayudaron para que Ella tuviera su viaje seguro hacia Nuestro Padre Celestial.
De acuerdo con los deseos de la familia, los arreglos del funeral se han confiado a GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St, Catharines. La familia da la bienvenida a familiares y amigos para un momento de reunión la noche del martes 27 de febrero del 2024 de 7:00 a 9:00 p.m.
El miércoles 28 de febrero a las 10:30 a.m., se Celebrará la Santa Misa de Funeral, en honor a Teresita, en la iglesia St. Alfred, seguida del rito de sepelio en el cementerio Victoria Lawn.
Todos son bienvenidos a compartir con la familia despues del funeral en el salon San Marcos de la Parroquia St Alfred. La familia agradecerá las tarjetas de celebracion de Santa Misas en memoria de Teresa.
