Obituary of Andrew Jay Scogin
It is with profound sadness that the family of Andrew (AJ) Scogin announce his passing on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. AJ passed away peacefully at the age of 74, in his home in St. Catharines, while in the presence of his loving wife, Diana. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of 40 years, Diana, their daughter, Anna, his grandson, Myles; his brother, Mike and wife, Cathy; as well as numerous relatives and friends. He will also be dearly missed by his friends and colleagues at Niagara Parks and life long friends from the Society of St. Pius X.
AJ was born on August 20, 1949. He had a love for life and never failed to put a smile on the faces of his friends or people he came into contact with. AJ was a devoted husband andprovider to Diana for 40 years, they celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on November10, 2023. AJ was a wonderful father to Anna. His love, support, life advice and kindness willnever be forgotten. AJ adored his grandson, Myles. Myles called AJ “dad dad” and the pair wasinseparable since Myles was born. AJ will live on in the hearts of those he loved and in the actions of those he imprinted on through his life. He will be forever cherished.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre 585 CarltonSt., St.
Catharines, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Vigil prayers at 5:30pm. A Solemn High Mass will he held the following day in the Ceremony Room of the funeral home on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines.
A small reception will be held after the burial at the family home of Diana and AJ, everyone is welcome to attend.
