Obituary of Roger Charles Jeffries
It is with heavy hearts the family announce the passing of Roger Charles Jeffries in his 91st year with family at his side. Cherished father to Greg (Sandra) Jeffries, Stephanie Thiessen, Roni (Dave) Brennan and Lea-Anne (Pete) Jesik; loving grandfather to Chris, Carrie, Rob, Daniel, Lukas, Nina, Nathan, and Noah; adoring great-grandfather to Sarah, Gavin, Spencer and Lincoln; uncle to many nieces and nephews; brother to Val Jeffries; Predeceased by Roger are his parents, Ernest and Joyce Jeffries; siblings Joan, Lou and Jill; wives, Eileen Rogerson and Nina Moore; Son-in-law Arnold Thiessen, Granddaughter Patricia Birnie and Great-Grandson Benjamin Jeffries.
Born in Timmins, Roger spent many years on the lake boats working his way from Deck Hand to First Mate. He then completed a successful 30-year career in Niagara with General Motors as a Quality Control Supervisor. Later, he was an avid member of the GYRO Club of St. Catharines to which he created many long-lasting friendships. Much love for his family and even more his grandchildren and enjoyed his luck with lottery tickets. The family wish to thank Dr. Jensen, Dr. Clark and Dr. Scott for their kindness and compassion through everything.
In keeping with Roger’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. The family welcomes family and friends for a time of gathering on Saturday, March 23rd from 2:00-4:00pm with a Celebration of Roger’s life beginning at 4:00pm. A reception to follow in the Kristen French Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Niagara Children’s Centre, Canadian Cancer Society and/or the Salvation Army of St. Catharines.
