Jozef Klepacki

Obituary of Jozef Klepacki

In Loving Memory of Jozef Klepacki

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jozef Klepacki on March 25, 2024, in hospital.

Born on February 17, 1943, in Poland, Jozef was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jozef's true joy in life came from the love and support he provided to his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 56 years, Irena, and a caring father to his son Richard (Joanna) and daughters Barbara (Ken) and Joanne (Radek). Jozef's presence and guidance will be greatly missed by his six grandchildren of whom he just adored; Alisha (Aaron), Emilia, Erika, Ethan, Thomas, and Patrick, all of whom affectionately referred to him as "dziadek".

Jozef leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be treasured by his extended family, including Ted (Wanda), uncle to Jessica, Vanessa (Bobby) and Melissa (Julio).  Edward (Diane), uncle to Derek and Danny (Paige).  Halina (Mike), uncle to Chris (Rae-Ann) and Denise, who all join in mourning his loss.  Special mentions:  parents Jozef & Malwina Klepacki (deceased), in-laws to Stanislaw & Sabina Baran (deceased), in-law to Eugene Baran (deceased), uncle to Marek & Miraslawa Frac (deceased).

In addition to his immediate and extended family, Jozef will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, both near and far.  Among them, Zosia (Waldek), Christine, Jane (Ed), Halina, Ed (Nancy), and many others who held a special place in Jozef's heart. Their presence in his life brought him joy and enriched his family connections.

Coming to Canada in 1963, to visit his sister Maria (Edward) (both deceased), Jozef settled in Niagara Region after meeting and marrying his wife Irena on 27th April 1968, surrounded by many family and friends.

Jozef was a dedicated and hardworking individual who spent many years at Hayes Dana, an automotive components company, supporting his growing family. His commitment to his work was unwavering, and he excelled as an automotive worker, woodworker, and all-around handyman. Jozef's resourcefulness and skill in various trades made him a go-to person for those seeking his expertise. He was always the first to lend a helping hand and generously shared his ideas and knowledge with others.

Jozef was a man of passion and intensity, driven by a strong work ethic and in his Roman Catholic faith. His experiences of receiving help and support upon arriving in Canada left an indelible mark on him, instilling within him a profound sense of gratitude and a strong desire to give back and support others. This core value of helping others became deeply embedded in his being.

Jozef's commitment to serving his community was evident through his active involvement in various volunteer activities. He dedicated his time and efforts to the Canadian Polish Society and the Polish community in St. Catharines. His dedication and selflessness earned him the respect and admiration of his peers, as he tirelessly worked to make a positive impact on the lives of others and the Polish community itself.

As we reflect on Jozef's life, may his legacy serve as a reminder of the power of gratitude and the importance of giving back to our communities. His legacy of gratitude, giving, and community service will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.  In honoring his memory, may we all strive to embody the same values of compassion and service that Jozef exemplified throughout his life.

Finally, Jozef's love extended beyond borders, as he maintained strong ties with numerous family members in Poland and other countries.

Ośno Lubuskie held a special place in Jozef's heart, as it was his beloved hometown in Poland. His deep connection to his roots and his unwavering passion to return to his hometown were an integral part of his being. Jozef's longing to visit his family and reconnect with his roots led him to make numerous trips to Poland throughout his life.

During his visits, Jozef cherished the time spent with his beloved siblings. He shared special times with his sisters Jadwiga (deceased) and Zofia (deceased), as well as his brother John (deceased). Kajetan, his brother died at birth. Their presence and the memories they created together were cherished treasures in Jozef's life. Jozef's living sister, Anna, also held a significant place in his heart.

In honoring Jozef’s memory, may we pay tribute to his beloved siblings, both living and deceased, and the lasting bond they shared. May their souls rest in eternal peace, and may their memories be a source of comfort and strength to all who knew and loved them.

The connection Jozef maintained with his extended family in Ośno Lubuskie and the memories he cherished from his visits served as a testament to his deep love for his hometown and his commitment to preserving his Polish heritage.

As we all reflect on Jozef’s life, let us acknowledge the profound impact his hometown had on shaping his identity and the importance he placed on family connections. May his memories and the enduring spirit of Ośno Lubuskie continue to inspire us to embrace our own roots and honor our heritage.

A special thanks are extended to the nurses, doctors and staff at the Niagara Health Center. The care he received in his last days was exemplary and was a great consolation to his family.
