Obituary of Nelly Schwarz
Nelly Schwarz (Tiel)
April 14, 1940 – April 7, 2024
We are sad to announce the passing of Nelly Schwarz of St. Catharines. Nelly was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands and passed in St. Catharines, Ontario in her 84th year. She is survived by her loving spouse, Folkert “Fred” Schwarz. Nelly and Fred married on May 6, 1960 in Amsterdam.
She is also survived by her children Petronella Schwarz (Francois) and Folkert Schwarz Jr. (Jenn); her grandchildren Nahanni, Soleil, Jacop, Nakita, Dayne, Lexxi, predeceased by Kiefer; her great grandchildren Jayden, Isaiah, Fabian, River, Piper, Ava, Harper, Arie, Beatrice, Izzy and Miaz. Survived by her many siblings, nieces and nephews in the Netherlands and her brother, Hans Tiel (Lijda) in St. Catharines.
Nelly was a member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church. Dutch TV, knitting, sewing, reading and going on trips were some of her many interests. She enjoyed any sunny day.
The family is grateful for the extraordinary care Nelly received from the Health Care Team at Tabor Manor LTC Home in St. Catharines.
In keeping with Nelly’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service was held. Nelly was passionate and supported many charities, In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
