Obituary of Margaret Rose Gilligan
It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Rose Gilligan (nee Norton) announce her peaceful passing at Lanark Lodge Thursday, April 11th 2024 in her 83rd year. Cherished spouse of Arthur Gilligan of 60 years; devoted mother of Lisa (Paul) Kourkafas; Shelley (Marty) Frechette; Sean (Melissa) Gilligan and stepmother of Bryan (Sandra) Gilligan; proud grandmother of Thomas Gilligan, Cameron Frechette, Rhiannon Gilligan and sister of Julia Zacharuk; Margaret will be loved and missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family. Margaret is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Stella Norton along with her 14 brothers and sisters.
Margaret was a hardworking woman who devoted much of her time inside the home as much as outside. An administrator for CAA for over 20 years, enjoyed playing Bingo and dancing with Arthur were only some aspects of Margaret’s life.
The family would like to offer their appreciation to the Lanark Lodge for all of the exceptional care provided from the nurses and staff.
In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines.
