Obituary of Robert George Richards

RICHARDS, Robert (Bob) George

Passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on Thursday April 18, 2024 in St. Catharines in his 84th year.  Beloved husband to the late Valerie (2011).  Father to Michael, Cindy (Jim), and Paula (Ken).  Poppa to Jamison, Jacob, and Nicholas.  Survived by his sister Joan, pre-deceased by brothers Bill and Ted, and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.  Will be dearly missed by his devoted and loving best friend Stacy and her family. 

Born in Ottawa, Bob relocated to Niagara and worked as a Chemist at the Vineland Research Station (Agriculture Canada) until retiring to spend more time traveling and enjoying his many hobbies.  He was a lifelong learner, loved reading and had an impeccable memory and knowledge of seemingly everything.  He enjoyed photography, wildlife, boating, fishing, wood carving, playing pool, model trains, warplane history and watching car racing.

Cremation has taken place.  Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke foundation would be appreciated if desired. A celebration of Bob’s life will take place at a later date.
