Obituary of Nadia Pacecca

Passed away peacefully in the presence of her family, on Thursday May 2, 2024, at the age of 76 after a 9-year battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer. Nadia was born on June 22, 1947, in Rome, Italy. She moved to Hamilton, Canada at 4 years old with her parents. She was an educator with the Hamilton Wentworth Separate School Board, Halton Catholic School Board and Niagara Catholic (former Lincoln) School Board for over 30 years. Nadia enjoyed playing cards and games with her family and friends and was always the first to make sure everyone else was okay. She married Patrick Pacecca on June 22, 1968, and they raised 2 children: Jay (Kate) Pacecca and Marie (Cary Kruty) Palujanskas. Nadia is also survived by her brother Carmen Scione, sister Laurie Woodstock, and sister-in-law Tina Scione. She was preceded by her parents Mario and Veleda Scione and brother Fred Scione. Nadia was a devoted Nonna who cared and loved her five grandchildren Jackie (Evan), Deanna, Aidan (Yiotta), Serena, and Matteo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families. Family will receive friends at St. Julia Church, 251 Glenridge Ave., St. Catharines on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 10 a.m. until the Funeral Mass begins at 10:30 am, followed by her inurnment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. All are welcome afterwards for a reception to celebrate the life of Nadia Pacecca at George Darte Funeral Home located at 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines.
