Obituary of Joyce Winnifred Davis
We are saddened to announce the gentle passing of our dear Joyce Davis (nee Dawson) on Wednesday, May 15th 2024 at Chippawa Creek at Bella Care Residence in her 97th year with family at her side. Is survived by daughter Pat Cramer (nee Mitchell) and the late Kevin Cramer; son Alastair (Lorraine) Davis; loving grandchildren, Crystal (Troy) Wilson, Lea (Egor) Rantsevitch, Kelly Mitchell, Lindsay (Chris) Davis and Heather (Johnathan) Beam; adoring great-grandchildren Tessa Wilson, Isla Rantsevitch, Eli Beam and Ari Beam; sister Judy (Bill) Budau and sister-in-law, Pat Dawson. Joyce will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbours and extended family. Predeceased by Joyce is her loving husband, Roy; parents John and Eva (nee Wilkins) Dawson; siblings Jean Holland, Gwen Youde and Arnold Dawson.
Was secretary and president of the River Road Women’s Institute, volunteered with the Region of Ottawa Senior Services (ROSS) and had her hand in much community involvement and volunteering. Joyce was an avid Blue Jays and Golf fan, enjoyed walking, bird watching and spending many summers at the cottage with her family. She was notably talented with knitting and crocheting and practiced Yoga. Joyce will be remembered for her quiet spirit, grace and great fashion sense.
The family wish to extend their immense gratitude to the nurses and staff at Bella Care Residence for their exceptional loving care and compassion over the years.
In keeping with Joyce’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Cremation has taken place and Celebration of Joyce’s life will be held, Saturday, June 1st 2024 at 11:00am in the Merrickville Union Cemetery, 204 Burritts Rapids Rd., Merrickville, Ontario with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider making charitable donations to Project SHARE Food Bank.
