Obituary of Maria Polycronopulos
It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Polycronopulos (nee Loukopoulou) with family at her side on Tuesday, May 21 2024 in her 91st year at Tabor Manor. Cherished spouse of Nick Polycronopulos for 62 years; loving mother of the late Gina Polycronopulos and George (Judy) Polihronis; adoring Yiayia to Alexis Polihronis and Olivia Polihronis. Maria is predeceased by her parents, Ioannis and Magdalene and her siblings, Vasiliki and Constantine.
Maria was a woman of faith who found great pleasure in taking care of her ever-growing family. She was an active member of her church and enjoyed preparing authentic Greek cuisine for her family and friends.
In keeping with Maria’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. The family will receive guests for a time of gathering at the St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church from 9:30 to 11:00AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 27th 2024. The First Thrice Holy Hymn/Trisagio will be held at the St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church. It will be followed by the funeral service, the Final Thrice Holy Hymn Service/Trisagio will occur at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations to the St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church in memory of Maria can be made.
