Obituary of Madeline Mary Hodges
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Madeline Mary Hodges (nee Newman) on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Henley House at the age of 97. Madeline was predeceased by the love of her life, Len Hodges; cherished mother of Kevin (Renate), Barry (Melanie) and predeceased by her daughter, Sheila. Loving “Nana” to Brendan, Nicholas (Britany), Bryton (Adelle) and Dylan (Sephra); special thank you to cousin Nancy Hardman for unwavering support during the last three years.
Madeline grew up in St. Catharines and after graduating from the St. Catharines Collegiate, she started working in the office. Madeline also did record keeping for many years with St. Alfred’s Church; and was also well-known for her baking. Madeline made the best minced meat and butter tarts. Truly enjoying family gatherings.
A special thank you to all the staff at Henley House for the most complete, professional and compassionate care, guiding us through the most difficult time.
In keeping with Madeline’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines.
