Oh my! This sad news indeed. My heartfelt condolences to Linda, Wendy and families. I had the pleasure of knowing John for most of my life. We played 'band' together with the Ambassadors where he was given the moniker 'flea.' He got flea and I got 'House Mouse.' I knew him from Johnson St. in StC where he was known to us affectionately as 'Sir Chicken.' We both shared a passion for the St. Catharines Black Hawks and Chicago Black Hawks. Rest in peace my friend. God's speed and comfort to all the family and friends.

So sorry to hear of John's (Flea) passing.
Always ready to bring up fond memories of drum corps days during our breakfasts at Good Eats. I'm hoping he is reunited with his buddies.
March on, my friend.

I am going to miss our exchanging of emails on birthdays and the past debates about my Leafs vs his Blackhawks. Lots of memories going back to high school bus rides and marching together in the Canadian Commanders Drum Corp. Whenever he sent news it always had proud words about his daughter and his grandchildren.

Our BC family send our condolences to our cousins Linda and Wendy and to Johns daughter Anneke, husband Stephen and their children on the passing of their brother, father/inlaw and grandfather.
We never really got to know any of our Ontario family as dad was in the military and we lived all over Canada. Through facebook we've been able to reconnect with many of the family.
Rest in peace cousin. You will be missed.
Love from Brenda Allan and your BC, AB cousins

I met John through my cousin and her husband who was in the band and knew John from their involvement in that. Decades later we saw each other again when I was back for a visit. We would chat occasionally on the phone and John would always speak of his family. My heartfelt sympathy to all of you.
