Obituary of German Cabrera Murcia
With heavy hearts we announce that our dad was suddenly taken away from us on August 1st 2024 at the age of 68.
German was born in Suaza, Colombia but called Florencia his home. He cherished his roots and made sure to keep a piece of home wherever he went by the stories he told.
German was predeceased by his beloved parents Francisco Cabrera, and Emelina Murcia. By his brother, Hector Cabrera and his brother in laws, Robinson Orjuela, Miguel Sandoval, and Pedro Ramos. He now joins them in Gods glory.
German is survived by his children Andres, Viviana, and Valentina, the mother of his children Monica. His brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, friends, and all those who considered him a father.
German was a devout Catholic who demonstrated the true meaning of walking in faith. He was a hardworking man who never stopped working to provide for his family and is known by many as a “fun uncle” or the “life of the party” for his high spirits, laughter and jokes, and for his positive energy.
One thing German was the most proud of were his children. After years of wanting to have children he met Monica Orjuela, blessing him with Andres, Viviana, and Valentina. He was also proud of his future children in-law, Julianna, Tomasz and Evan and how they enjoyed sharing his culture and traditions. He was an outstanding father not only in his affection but in the lessons he taught: to always be close to God, to love our family and to love one another.
German’s most important goal in life was to have a family. In this he succeeded as an amazing father who will be truly missed.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. The family welcomes guests for a time of visitation on Tuesday, August 13th 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass to be held Tuesday, August 13th 2024 at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home’s Ceremony Room. If desired, donations may be made to Food 4 Kids in memory of German.
