May 12, 1963 - September 1, 2024

Joe Plata passed away peacefully after a short but brave battle with cancer at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 61 years of age.

Beloved husband of Urszula of almost 26 years and loving father of David, his memory will always be cherished by them. The best family friend Kathy and her children Eric, Jacob and Emily. He will be missed by his cats Molly and Macka. He will be missed and remembered by his siblings Anna, Maria (Richard), Robert (Urszula), Grazyna (Jozef), Lucyna (Stanislaw), Pawel (Barbara) and their families; his mother- in- law Danuta and sister- in- law Monika and her daughter Natalia; his former sister-in-law Krystyna, his goddaughter Anna; extended family and friends in Poland and Canada.

Jozef is now with his parents Wiktor and Wanda, his aunts Zofia and Stanislawa and his father-in-law Mieczyslaw.

A special thank you to his nurse Lilia and those who helped him, his wife and son during his illness.

Joe had worked at Meyers Fruit Farms for almost 30 years and he felt a part of the Meyers family, he will be missed by his managers and colleagues.

In honouring Jozef's wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 5 Oblate St., St. Catharines on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. interment following at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made the Canadian Cancer Society.
