Obituary of Janet Davidson Price
PRICE, Janet Davidson (neé McArthur)
December 3, 1930 - September 10, 2024
It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of Janet on September 10, 2024 in her 94th year. She is now in the arms of Jesus. Beloved wife of nearly 71 years to Dennis, cherished mother to Victoria (Graham Kerr), Bill (Connie) and the late Thomas (2023), devoted grandmother to Lindsay (Mark Papineau), Adam Kerr, Philip (Heather), and Michael (Alyssa Pipher), and adored great-grandmother of Claudia, William, Henry and Teddy. She will be fondly remembered by her brother-in-law Fred Makarchuk, her many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by her parents Samuel and Allison McArthur, and her siblings Betty (late Louis Merrick), Margery (late Bill Collard), Margaret (late Bill Anderson), Jean Makarchuk, Samuel McArthur, and Donald McArthur.
As a young teen, Janet left school to work for Bell Canada as a switchboard operator to help support her family. She worked for Bell Canada until her retirement and enjoyed many a get-together with the retirees, the Bell Pioneers. She was also a member of the Parkway Artist’s Guild, and a long-serving parishioner at the Church of the Good Shepherd.
Janet was a proud member of Branch 24 Legion where she loved her fish and chips. She loved travelling and had the opportunity to travel world wide.
Visitation will be held at George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street, St Catharines, Ontario, on Monday September 16th from 2-5 pm with Janet’s funeral at the funeral home on Tuesday September 17th at 11am with burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
If so desired donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
