Obituary of Vincent Elwood Thwaites
It is with sadness that the family of Vincent Thwaites announces his peaceful passing at Douglas Memorial Hospital, Fort Erie on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024. Vincent beloved husband of the late Helen (2008). Cherished father of Carol (Peter) and Susan (Walter). Devoted Gramps to Paul (Becky), Brian (Vicky), Mathew (Becky) and Adam (Angela). Great gramps to Miley, Nash, Bianca, Leo and Hannah. Predeceased by his sister Eloise and his brothers Ronald and Arthur, lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews.
Vincent was in his 100th year and our family historian. Born in Jordan Station he was a long standing member of IOOF Lodge. An avid outdoors man he enjoyed hunting and fishing and his dogs. His hobbies included stain glass and snowmobiling. After 32 years at GM, Vincent enjoyed retirement and being able to spend time at the cottage doing the things he loved.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Karen Berti and staff at Tabor Manor. A family graveside service with inurnment at Oaklawn Cemetery, Jordan Station will be held at a later date. If so desired, donations made in Vincent's memory to Jordan Station United Church would be appreciated by his family.
