Obituary of Mary Louise Hartman
Mary Louise Hartman (nee Brown) passed peacefully at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital in St. Catharines on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024. She was born on September 28th, 1940, in London Ontario to William and Kay (Kathleen) Brown. She is survived by her loving husband, John Hartman, whom she met at around 18 years old at a church dance. They married in 1961 and have had a wonderful, fun life together for 63 years! She is also survived by her loving children Dianne, Michael (Deirdre), Stephen (Arlette), 7 grandchildren: Ben, Emily (Dennis), Malcolm (Kayli), Jake (Angela), Adrian (Andrea), Nathan, and Adam, 2 great granddaughters Isla and Lyla, her brother Jim (Roma), numerous nieces and nephews, and many other beloved family members and friends.
She was a former teacher and always shared funny, cute stories about the kids she taught. Mary also loved music and loved to sing, and being part of Sing Niagara chorus for many years brought her so much joy. She and John have lived in the same house they raised their family in since 1967 and have a wonderful community of friends and neighbours there. Mary was a devout Catholic who belonged to St. Alfred's Church all these years. Please say a prayer for Mary as she reunites with her parents and brother Pat Brown in Heaven. Please also remember John in your prayers as he goes through this difficult time.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 24 at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St from 11am. Funeral Mass at St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St at 1pm. Cremation.
If so desired, donations made in Mary's memory to the Society of St.Vincent de Paul would be appreciated by her family.
