Obituary of Desmond Paul Kennedy

KENNEDY, Desmond - Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Garden City Manor at the age of 82. Desy grew up in Northern Ireland where he met and fell in love with Isobel.  Married in 1965 they raised three children, Paul (Cathy), Lorraine and Desmond (Lisa).  In 1979 the family emigrated to Canada to join three of Desy's brothers, it was a difficult decision to move but worked out well for the family.  Desy and Ise's family grew to include seven grandchildren and one great grandson.  Darren, Shannon, Connor, Emma, Katie, Meagan, Desmond and Roy all adored and maintained a close relationship with their Grandfather.   Desy's faith was strong, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1394 and deeply involved with St. Thomas Aquinas of St. Catharines.  Pain of Desy's loss is felt by many Nieces, Nephews and extended family members in Ireland, The Isle of Man and Australia. The family would like to thank the staff of the Garden City Manor Nursing Home and Staff of both the St. Catharines site and Wolcott wing of the NHS for their outstanding care. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, with a date of November 2nd to be expected. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
