Obituary of Alexander Francis Jones

JONES, Alexander F. October 6, 1957 - December 27, 2012 Alex Jones lost his battle with cancer at Hospice Niagara on December 27, 2012. Born in Scotland and raised in St. Catharines, Alex is the darling son of Anne and Bill Jones, proud and loving father of Cassandra, Carly and Nicolas Jones. He is a beloved brother and friend to Rita (Miles) Ellis, Anne (Troy) Thorne, Bill Jones, Alison Jones, Katharine (Jim) Martinson and Sarah (Erika) Loffelmann-Jones. Alex is loved and will be missed by all of his nieces and nephews including; Oliver, Cameron and Jackie Ellis; Emily, Brent and Hayley Thorne; Curtis and Abby Jones; Brandon and Simon Martinson; Jordan and Corey Leung. He is the much loved nephew of John (Dianne) Roberts and Rita (John) Montgomery. He will be missed by his cousins worldwide and by a close group of friends who have been true and good to him. Alex was the Project Coordinator at Walker Industries and a respected member of his profession. He leaves behind many friends and colleagues at Walker. He was an avid sports fan and a true Warrior. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Alex's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, January 2nd from 2-3:45pm. A Memorial Service will follow in the funeral home at 4pm. Inurnment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre or Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
