Obituary of Anna Doreen Yando

YANDO (Greco,nee Turner), Anna Doreen - Peacefully passed away on Friday, December 21st, 2012 at Henley House at the age of 81. Loving wife of the late John Greco (1978) and the late Frank Yando (1995). Dear mother of Tracey and Albert Murray of Thorold and Brian and Andrea Greco of St. Catharines. Loved second mother of Paul Greco of Stouffville. Loving Grandma of Sandra and John-Paul D'Alessandro, Shaunda and Vaughan Kellett, Sharon Murray, and Gina and Julia Greco. Great Grandma of Cody, Brittany, Tyannah, Blaise, Mitchell and Jade. Dear sister of Pat and Dave Rowdon of St. Catharines, and the late Grace and Clem Couture. Doreen is the sister-in-law of the late Josephine and Nick Marchesani of Niagara Falls, New York, Elsie and the late Tony Marino of Thorold, Edith Rosetto of St. Catharines, Dan and Rae Greco of Toronto, Nick and Sophie Greco of St. Catharines, Yola and the late Pat Greco of Thorold, and Sam and Madeline Greco of Thorold. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by infant twin boys, and her parents William and Helen Turner of St. Catharines. Doreen had a huge heart, always taking in people with need. She always opened her home to people in distress for undetermined amounts of time. Towards her latter years, Doreen was involved in Prison Ministries in various U.S. penitentiary systems. The family extends sincere thanks to the entire staff of Henley House for their love and support. Doreen's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Sunday, December 23rd from 2-3:45pm. A service to celebrate her life will follow in the funeral home chapel at 4pm. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow the service. There will be a private family inurnment at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
