I first met Peter in the fall of 1962 in the men’s residence at Queen’s. We quickly became friends. In second year Peter lived with Ron Brooks and Jim Shivas at the “house of the good guys” where many of us frequently hung out. Later in life Peter provided outstanding legal services to my business interests. Peter had an excellent sense of humour and was always welcoming, generous and exceedingly bright. A true gentleman. Sincere condolences to Barbara and all of his family.

Barb & Family:
Julia and I are very sorry we are unable to attend the Celebration of Life for Peter. We were deeply saddened to learn of his passing the day we were traveling to California. Our deep sympathies and prayers go out to you, Barb, and your families.
I am reminded of the first SM Christmas party I attended in 1980 and Peter, with the piano stylings of Mike Shea, sang "Drop Kick Me Jesus Through the Goalposts of Life". What diverse talent Peter had beyond his tax and corporate law expertise! He was a great lawyer and a great partner in the Firm. Farewell Peter and Rest in Peace!! Keep tackling the goalposts in that other world beyond.

Peter was a great lawyer and a close friend. Many wonderful business successes and experiences were enjoyed over the twenty-five plus years that we worked together. Janice and I always remember the great fun filled times we had on our many trips together with Barb and Peter throughout the years.

In 1992, my accountant Glen Corbett CA recommended Peter as a lawyer to handle the sale of my pharmacy in Fonthill and his advice couldn't have been better, Peter handled the transaction with exceptional knowledge and expertise. All in attendance were in awe of his genius and professionalism. I send my deepest condolences to his surviving family at this sad time.
Sincerely,
Robert (Bob) Laing.

Peter's intellectual brilliance and warm humanity shone equally during the three years of law school we shared at Queen's - he was head and shoulders the finest student in our class and at the same time a friend to all. We have lost an exceptional person. Condolences to Barb and the family. Sheila and Don Bayne

I was so very sorry to learn of Peter’s passing. I knew him only through his time at Pioneer Elder Care, and although he was no longer the vibrant man I read about in his obituary, I could tell that he was a gentleman. My condolences to Barbara and the rest of the family at this very sad time.

We send our heartfelt condolences to Barb, David, Scott, Heather and all the Banwell family on Peter’s passing.
We shall long remember the incredible times we shared. Whether playing golf, tennis, cards, or simply conversing, it was always a joy to be in his company. Peter was a master wordsmith, and his cryptic crossword capabilities were beyond most of us.
He was a good person, a loyal and wise friend, and a true mentor.
We’ll treasure forever the gift he gave by walking on a shared pathway. He will always be with us as our dear friend, and as the old soul we came to know.
With warm regards to all of you,
Jim and Sue Miles

Hi Barb
Cathy and I are sad to hear of Peters passing. Our condolences to you and your three lovely kids. The best lawyer I ever worked with by a mile …and never a hint from him as he walked through life that he professed to be that . As comfortable doing jock talk as explaining the intracacies of corporate taxation to a client. Peters greatest attribute ….grounded and valuable wisdom and advice. And all the courage to carry on with a meaningful life after the devastation of his health issues….absolutely remarkable . And your care of him …as remarkable. I look forward to paying tribute by attendance at the Celebration of Life. Bob Miller
