Obituary of Joseph John Chodarcewicz

CHODARCEWICZ, Joseph It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected peaceful passing of Joseph in his 71st year, surrounded by his loving family on Friday Dec. 21, 2012, at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Dearly beloved spouse & best friend of Jean. Loving stepfather of Stephen (Tara) Ostaszewicz & Michael (Shannon) Ostaszewicz. Also survived by Anastasia & Jonathan. Dziadzia Joe cherished his grandchildren & will be sadly missed by Joshua, Lucas, Brandon & Jillian Ostaszewicz who loved him dearly. Predeceased by his parents Joseph (1992), Maria (1991), brother Walter (1964) & Leokadia (1964) whom he missed tremendously and will be reunited with them. Joseph was a retired employee of TRW with 34 years of service.He was an avid farmer & grape grower in Niagara-on-the-Lake for many years. Joseph was a very hard working, gentle and caring man who enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, relaxing at the cottage in Kaszuby, travelling and "Polka Music". He will be sadly missed by cousins in Poland, Mauro & Mary Tomasin and family, his many friends and neighbours, locally and in Kaszuby. Arrangements are entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. As per his wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation and a private family service has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 202-180 James St South, Hamilton L8P 4V1 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or charity of your choice.
