Obituary of Stella Catherine Kaye

KAYE, Stella (nee Gadula) - Passed away on Friday, April 19th, 2013 at the St Catharines General Hospital at the age of 97.Beloved wife of the late Ivan for 62 years. Loving mother of Lynn (Wayne Cheveldayoff), Gail (Jim Duchesneau) and Gary (the late Margaret Cushing). Devoted grandmother of Ellen, Andrew, Nina, Natalie and Zandr�©a (Brian Hermanson). She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Stella was one of the first women entrepreneurs in St. Catharines, owning and operating the Blue Bird Beauty Shoppe on Geneva Street. She will always be remembered as a unique and wise woman who had a great sense of humour, a spirit of gratitude and an appreciation of life. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Sunday from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The family requests that all visitors and guests please respect a fragrance free environment at the funeral home and St. Julia Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Julia Church on Monday at 11a.m. Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers due to a family member fragrance allergy, memorial donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation or a Charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family.
