Linda Ressler posted a condolence
Monday, August 9, 2010
Dear Gary, and all Lesley's family,
I had the pleasure of working with Lesley at Comcare, and I appreciate, Gary, that I met you at our parties. Lesley Stephenson and Nancy Robinson filled me in on Lesley's death and funeral service after my return from vacation. I am so sad to hear that Lesley is no longer physically present with you. I can't imagine how difficult it will be to adjust to this new chapter in your lives.
As a social worker, my job often was to help people with cancer develop strategies for coping. It seems that Lesley could have written the manual. I have great respect for how she lived and the choices she made. It is a testament to her having developed a maturity of character.
May her love for you continue to enrich and bless you in the days and years ahead.
Respectfully,
Linda Ressler

Lesley touched our lives in different ways, Karen's school years and early adulthood -(a friend in a million) and mine later when I was introduced as Karen's future husband. We had some very memorable times together with the Lesley and the family. They came here to our little village in North Nottinghamshire (England) where we went for sunny walks in the countryside. We visited Port and had some really memorable times watching David and Stephen playing Hockey or rowing. The one really outstanding memory we have is from last year when Lesley persuaded us to go cycling with her locally around lake ontairio to view some sights we had only seen in three feet of snow on prievious occasions from a cosy restaurant.
To cut a long story short, she took off after looking round and shouting "Come on then!" and left us in her tracks. Lesley was showered and changed by the time we got back to Courtleigh Road. We will never forget her enthusiasm for life and her cheeky smile.
Our thoughts are with Gary, Stephen, David, Cabot and Lesley' parent's and Ian at this very sad time.
Lesley we will never forget you.

Mr. Osmond and family. It will never be the same, and there will never be an answer or an explanation as to why the Lord has chosen your wife and mother to be with Him. May you have some comfort in knowing that Lesley has found peace and everlasting joy in His arms. May the reassurance of His love give you strength at this time. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Lesley was an amazing woman. From the first time I met her at Holy Cross I was just so impressed by everything about her. She had such a gift in the way she worked with our kids in her passionate, no-nonsense manner. She gave her best and got the best from each of them. Her positive attitude was contagious to us all. She was a breath of fresh air when she came in and left each one she touched (including us staff) with a smile. We were all shocked with her diagnosis but equally inspired with how bravely she handled it and never seemed to wallow in a "Why me?" attitude. She obviously put so much of her passion into what she believed in including her journey of the last many years. You all have so much to be proud of in your wife and your mother. She will be missed by so many but by none as painfully as you three. We are so sorry for your loss.

Dear Gary and Family: I am so sorry for your loss of Lesley. She was an amazing person and I have so many fond memories of her working with our special needs students. She was the best at every project she touched and I hope you and your family can celebrate all the great things she did as a wife and mother. I will really miss her compassion but I know her great legacy will live on in our new Walker Cancer Centre.
Sincerely,
Tracy

Another beautiful lady looses a long hard fought battle with Breast Cancer ♥
Your fight is now over Lesley...
My thoughts & prayers are with all the family of Lesley Osmond - a fabulous, caring & compassionate co-worker/friend of mine, who loved her career as a Physiotherapist in the Niagara Region. Lesley was a fantastic & exceptionally compassionate individual with a personality that everyone loved. Her infectious smile, her laughter, her fabulous personality -- one could not help but to love her! I have yet, in all my 30+ yrs in health care, not met anyone that loved her job as much as Lesley did! Lesley was unbelievable. Everyone absolutely loved her! I enjoyed my years working with Lesley at ComCare & will treasure the friendship, the smiles & the many moments of laughter we shared many, many times, with so many of our clients.
RIP Lesley... ♥ You will be greatly missed ♥

Dear Gary and family,
I want to express my deepest sympathies to you and your family. I only met Lesley a few times while she helped the Maywood students read, but I remember her smile and caring way about her that made people smile. As I looked at the pictures you posted it was evident that she really lived life with zest! I know you are feeling sadness and loss but you should also feel so much pride in how she lived her life.

I met Lesley 11 years ago when she was the physiotherapist for a special little girl that I worked with in the school board. We formed an immediate bond. Her smile, sense of humour and compassion for "our" children with special needs won me over!
I was fortunate to work with Lesley in 2 different schools until she could no longer work. Unfortunately, Facebook has been our only connection the past couple years.
She will be missed by many. Thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Hello Gary
I am sending you a big hug tonight. I have just caught up with the newspaper and found out that Lesley's grand fight has ended, and what a fight it was. I have followed her smile, her determination and her "will to live" ever since she was first stricken with Breast Cancer, and have thought about you, and asked Kelly P. about you, whenever I have seen her. (I am, of course, retired now). Nothing we say can numb your pain, loss and sorrow at this time. Please take comfort in knowing that there is now an Angel "directing the troups" from above. She gave it her all; she tried her best to stay, but God had other plans for her. My thoughts are with you and the boys, with her Mom and Dad in Nottingham, and with her brother in South Africa. God bless.
