Dear Donna
I was shocked to learn of John's passing and I am sorry for you and your family's loss.I will miss our chat's in the locker room. John was one of the finest men I have had the pleasure of knowing. I regret I was unable to personally pay my respects and attend his service, but my thoughts are with you

It is with sadness that I heard of the death of my ex husband John Edward Daffern. It gave me pause to remember our engagement of three years and marriage of twenty years. I recall having our first home built in Hammerwich, near Tamworth, the birth of our daughter Karen Louise, our decision to emigrate to Canada, the birth of our son Marc Edward, the two years when we lived in Jebba, Nigeria, West Africa. The lost a dear friend when Johns mother died in 1985. And our decision to buy Paul Davis Systems in 1987. The wedding of our daughter, the birth of our grand children, Jacob Samuel Edward, Madeline Louise, the commissioning of my Son, Marc as a Captain in the Anglican Church Army. Many good and wonderful memories. I am sad that John†™s live ended so young and I look forward to meeting him again in the presence of our Lord and saviour, Jesus.

Dear Donna and family
We still can†™t believe we†™re writing these words. The last few years have been somewhat unkind to our families, but through all the sadness we think back to the fabulous times shared and are thankful for the memories that we†™re so lucky to have.
John †" to us an uncle, a great-uncle and brother in law and to Roger a brother . To all of us though a much loved friend. The physical distance between us has restricted our time together over many years, but whenever we met there was fun, love and so much laughter. On our last visit to Canada we were made so welcome by you both and we share many happy memories. John†™s face often appears on our computer †" dripping wet and covered in blue plastic on the †œMaid of the Mist†, with a wry smile as a butterfly perched on his hat or ready for a meal out with the family. We can picture so clearly John and Roger in the kitchen together over the years †" both loved to cook and be in charge †" using every implement there was available - we like to think that†™s what they are doing together now. The photos may not be with us for always, but the memories will and it is these that make us smile through the sadness.
Donna, you and John gave us support when Roger died so suddenly. Please know that whilst it is difficult for us to be with you physically at this time, you and all the family are so very much in our thoughts and prayers.
With love to all
Helen, Giles, Hilary, Sian and Freya

Spinning
I got to know this great guy in a spinning class that he and Donna were in. They always biked side by side which I thought was so cute, with me occasionally situated behind John, where I could tease him about his "cute butt".
However, how I will always fondly remember him is when he would ask Marlene, the instructor, if we could spin "downhill" instead of going up. In my next spinning class, I will think of this to motivate me. Rest in Peace my friend.

Donna & Family: I was deeply saddened to hear of John's passing. I remember the many times we spent together with the Coopermans when Steve was alive and John's wonderful sense of humour. He provided us with many laughs and he will be sorely missed, but I know that he will live forever in the hearts of his family and friends. My deepest condolences to you and your family.
