Obituary of Joseph Patrick Finucane

FINUCANE, Joseph- Passed away with his loving family by his side on Saturday, December 5th 2009 at the Welland Hospital at the age of 78. Beloved husband of the late Marie. Cherished father of Aidan (Cheryl), Oonagh and Declan (Jen). Special Papa of Ashley, Brendan, Kevin and Stephanie. Brother of Mick (New York ) and Una (New York). Predeceased by sisters Maureen,Breda and Fan and brother Derry. Joe will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Best friend to his dogs Reilly, Kira and Rex. "He was adored and loved by many and touched all our lives." Many thanks to all the wonderful nurses at the Niagara Health System Dialysis Unit. Joseph is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 2-4p.m & 7-9p.m. Vigil prayers will take place at 3p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Cathedral of St Catharine of Alexandria, Church Street on Thursday at 2p.m. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
