Some memories
I was sad to read about Rita and surprised that she was 85. It brought back memories as a kid at St. Anne's school playing baseball with Joe. In later years I was always amazed that he never lost his accent. Remembering Paddy as a waiter at the Lion, between shifts at the dry docks and the story where someone ordered a Labatt's 50 by asking for a 5-0 and Paddy got him a taxi. Years later working with Rita in real estate, a down to earth and a practical person. Always hard working and family first. To be a great granny is a wonderful thing.

I would like to first say that my deepest condolences go to Ryan, Christine, Pat and the rest of the family through this difficult time. Rita was a very special woman who touched the lives of everyone who knew her. When I look back on the 20+ years i knew Rita, it was clear to see that she made the most of everyday and helped others around her do the same. She was a very warm and caring person who could brighten your day up with a simple smile.
I will miss you Rita but take comfort knowing that you are forever in my heart.

Dear Christine, Ryan, Pat, Joe and family and Rita,
Please accept our heartfelt sympathy at this time of loss, although I believe that it is just a matter of time before you will again be reunited with your dear mother, (grandmother, aunt.) We have all lost a special friend, but perhaps we've gained an angel who will continue to loyally watch out for our good, in her feisty way.
We have had the pleasure of knowing this SPUNKY, little Irish lady and sharing some facets of her life. Our family knew her as a friend and true neighbour. Our children always ejoyed their conversations with Mrs. Haughian. She was an entusiastic cheerleader for them all and interested in whatever they were doing.
We were poignantly aware of her protective and abiding love for Ryan, because our children grew up with him. They shared in his grandmother's generosity and friendship.
She constantly shared her pride in Ryan's accomplishments. She was warm and welcoming, often inviting our boys for supper or outings to special places. She holds a special place in their hearts where tender memories are kept. Her life will serve as an example to our children as they think back those days on Westgate Park Drive.
We enjoyed her rousing greetings, her sense of humour, her kind words and her quick wit. She loved her home and garden and kept them looking lovely and neat. As a matter of fact, she herself was always neatly and fashionably dressed with her cutely-coiffed red hair. I admired her deep belief in our Lord, her willingness to stand up for what she believed to be right and her quiet acceptance of life's challenges.
She is embedded in our memories. Please accept our sincere condolences at this time. Lesa and Marsh Bablak, Larissa, Bohdan, Nestor, Markian and Kalyna

We were honoured to have known Rita. She was a very kind and gracious lady and positive outlook on life had an impact on everyone who knew her. She could warm you with a smile (and the occasional shot of Bushmills!). She will be loved and missed by our family.

In loving memory of my Auntie Rita, I wish to extend our deepest sympathies to all the family. She was a lovely lady and full of fun. One of my earliest memories was my mum Joan going to Canada to visit you all, it was 1974. I have fond memories too of Auntie Rita on holiday in Kells to visit us and of course the last time I saw her, Mark's Wedding. Her kind words to me when my own mum and dad died are still treasured. God bless you all and may she rest in peace.xxxMags, Terry, Conor, Chris and Ciara

Dear Pat, it has been many years since we have seen each other, and many more since I had last seen your mother. My memories of her are still very vivid, I always think of her as a gentle, caring person who was always on her feet. When I worked at Markarian's with you, your mother was the most patient and helpful person there. She had a smile for everyone. No words can help take away your family's loss, we each grieve in our own way. Sincerely Jane

Grandma, Your Love Will Forever Live Within Me
When I was growing up you nurtured and cared for me, and when you felt the time was right, you set me free.
Through the years, never once did you complain or wish for things to be any different. You simply took your life in stride, no questions asked, embracing the happy moments along with the sad, accepting all things for what they were. That was your way.
I didn't always understand or appreciate everything you did. I was a child with my own innocent perception of the world. Now as a grown-up, I can reflect with such admiration and respect on the wonderful woman and grandmother you were.
You stood with courage to meet the responsibilities that fell upon you, and sacrificed so much for your love of me. What you accomplished is more than you ever realized. When I think of all that you did for our family and all the love you so generously poured from yopur heart, I feel humbled. There will never be enough gratitude to offer you or a means to repay you.
My heart will always be filled with the joy of knowing your love. It is the most precious gift I have ever received, for it is the one you had so wisely taught me to set free and share with others.
I will always love you for being a caring person, a remarkable woman and an exceptional Grandmother. This love that you have given will forever live within me.
With my never ending, undying love my radiant angel beauty.
Your Grandson RYAN. XXOO

Forever Loved
My loving Mother. My heart has suffered a mortal wound that time will never mend. So I've wrapped it up in clover until the day we are united once again. From now to eternity, with all my love.
