Obituary of Rita Elizabeth Haughian
HAUGHIAN, Rita Elizabeth (Naan) - Peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on Monday September 13th, 2010 at the graceful age of 85. LORD HAVE MERCY ON HER SOUL AND GRANT HER ETERNAL REST. Beloved wife of the late Patrick (2000) . Rita will be forever cherished by her children Christine (Stewart), Joseph (Mia), Rita and Patricia. Loving grandmother of Ryan, Joe (Maura), Maria and Regina (Brett). Great grandmother of Calley and Olivia. Rita is survived by her brother Mr. Frank Naan (Patricia) of N. Ireland. Predeceased by her siblings Enda, Michael, Bernard, Jimmy, Sarah, Maureen, Joan and Una, all of Ireland. Rita will be sadly missed by the Bablak Family, Mrs. Philip Gregory and Leslie Klug. Born in Co. Fermanaugh, Ireland, Rita served as a Wren in the Royal Navy during World War 2. She immigrated to Canada in 1957 and Rita was employed at Peter Sukkau Real Estate until her retirement. Rita was a long term parishioner at Star of the Sea Church. A very special Irish blessing to Dr. Arvinte, Father Peter Walton, Dr. Talliano, Paramed, CCAC, Hospice Niagara, and Heidehoff Home Support.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL. A Memorial Service will take place at Star of the Sea Church on Friday, September 17 at 1p.m. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
