Obituary of Frank Milne

Milne, Frank - June 28, 1933 - June 13, 2008 - Passed away on June 13th 2008 at NHS St. Catharines General Hospital. Predeceased by his wife Helen in 1998. Survived by his daughters, Heather Hofacker (Ken), Tracy Milne (Mike Korolyk), and Susan Ryan (Tom). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Melissa Milne-Beaver (Aaron), Danielle Korolyk and her fianc�© Conrad Klotz, and Mike Korolyk Jr. (Carmen Hoggard), and the apple of his eye, great granddaughter Helena Beaver. Also missed by his best friend, sister in law Barbara Cantelon. Frank will be remembered mostly for his love of life, and hockey, as a player (Cleveland Barons, winning the Calder Cup) and was an active figure in Minor Hockey - coaching the Dixie Beehives Jr. Bs and then St. Catharines Blackhawks to the OHA Championships 1970-1971 season. He was instrumental in bringing hockey to South Carolina, and his retirement remained active consulting in the EHCL. Frank will be missed throughout the Harness Racing Industry, mostly for his big smile and generosity in sharing the joy and success with his favourite horse - Twin B Playboy, who will miss his visits to the farm with gentle pats and kind words. Heartfelt thanks to the nurses on C3 East and Dr. Hartman for their exemplary care. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Monday June 16 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday June 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Francis' life will be held on Wednesday June 18 at 1 p.m. in the George Darte Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If so desired, donations made to Special Olympics would be appreciated by the family.
