Sylvia and family,
We were deeply saddened by the news of your father passing. A parent is a gift to us the children and losing one we realize even more how precious this gift is. The times that I talked to your father were always pleasant. He brought joy to family gatherings with his stories and wonderful love for life. He will be missed by many.

Dear John, Bi, Renee, Aimee-Jo and Kai,
You have been in our thoughts since we heard of your Opa/Dad's passing. We all enjoyed sitting in your backyard and listening to stories from both he and your Mom/Oma. We know how much he meant to you and you to him. Hold on to the memories.

Dad you lived your life for the sole purpose of pleasing your family. I am proud to be your only daughter. We are proud to have known such a noble and loving person. Your family is together now, just as you would have wanted it.
You showed us how important Mom was to you in all you did. Mom is now with us. We will care for her, watch over her and give her the best for the rest of her life until you two meet again. She misses you dearly and will lean on all us through this difficult time.
We love you, I love you and miss you terribly. Rest in peace Daddy.
Love Sylvia

I wish I knew Ted better than I do, but it speaks well of his character that all my memories of him are good ones. From what I saw, he was truly a good, kind, loving, and giving man, who adored his family and treasured the time spent with them. We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Rietveld family. Remember the good times, those precious jewels of memory, and the light Ted's life brought into the world. May he rest in heavenly peace.
