Obituary of Theodore Johnston
JOHNSTON, Theodore Thane "Teddy"-
(May 8, 1954-February 26, 2011)
Beloved son of Dorothy and dear brother of Margaret (Al) Craig, Fraser, Tommy, Timmy, Dorie, Anna Gualtieri, Mary Weibe, Christopher (Laurie) and Anthony. Cherished cousin of 25, uncle to 14 nieces and nephews and great uncle to 11. He is lovingly remembered by Harvey Kingston and Terry Hadfield. Teddy is predeceased by his father Fraser Sr. (1985) and his cherished dogs Blue, Bimbo and Tasha.
He lived in his home which once belonged to his late Grandma. He worked on boats and travelled the world. Teddy was the host of family parties, especially St. Paddy's Day. Irish was his life, our family's way. In remembrance of Teddy, please wear green this day. He was a Sailor (Wheelsman) for 36 years, 23 years with Algoma Central. Out of all those years sailing, he was never able to be home for Christmas until this past Christmas. It was like he had to be with his whole family one last time.
Teddy's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, March 11th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, March 12th in the funeral home chapel at 1pm. Cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Big Paws Rescue would be appreciated by the family.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Theodore
