At the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS, on Friday December 9, 2005 Clarence Charkowy of St. Catharines in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Cindy (Olga) Dutchak and loving father of Linda Charkowy, Cheryl Durney Charkowy both of St. Catharines and the late Thomas Charkowy (1981). Dear brother of Dan (Irene) and Karen (Richard) Eyman both of St. Catharines. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Mary and Walter, brother Ken and sister-in-law Lorraine and son-in-law Tom Durney. Clarence was President of the Canadian Polish Society in 1986 and of the Folk Arts Council in St. Catharines in 1978 to 1979. He was a restauranteur for over 30 years. The family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL 585 Carlton Street St. Catharines on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral liturgy will be held from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Tuesday December 13, 2005 at 10 a.m. Rite of committal to follow in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be recited at the funeral home Monday evening at 8 p.m. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
